Lа Aurora little cigars are a brand of high quality
The year 1903 is the foundation year of the premium Lа Aurora little cigars brand. Don Eduardo León Jimenes was considered a hard working man and was the son and grandson of traditional tobacco growers. He learned the craft of a torcedore with great success and strove to perfect the art of rolling cigars. At the young age of 18, Don Eduardo León Jimenes wanted to take family tradition one step further. The long tradition was very important to him, which is why the young Jimenes decided to found the Lа Aurora little cigars brand. In Don Pedro, belonging to the Guazumal community in the outskirts of Santiago de los Caballeros, he chose the location for the first manufacture. Today, this city is one of the second largest in the country and is famous for the fertile Cibao Valley, which supplies the world’s best tobacco.
The first cigars in Perfecto and Double Figurado format were produced then, as today, in very small editions. A maximum of 100 units are manufactured per day, per torcedore.
Most cigar manufacturers leave the first chosen location in the company’s history. Don Eduardo León Jimenes took this step in 1912, on the advice of his brother. The new location was created directly in the thriving city of Santiago de los Caballeros. After the young Jimenes’ sisters joined, the company was renamed E. Leon Jimenes Inc., producers of Lа Aurora little cigars.
The Lа Aurora little cigars brand set itself a goal of conquering the global market with a product that combines the experienced tradition of the family with high quality.
At the beginning, Don Eduardo León Jimenes inherited some “Tareas” and six dedicated employees who made the vision a reality with much effort and enthusiasm.
The Lа Aurora little cigars has been striving for the highest quality goals for over 100 years and fulfills this in a reasonable price category. The formats produced by hand only contain carefully selected tobaccos, which are rolled into premium cigars in excellent processing. As the first cigar manufacturer, La Aurora fitted the cigars with a cigar ring that shows the central allegory of the Spanish coat of arms in red and gold. Over the years, the brand’s logo has evolved and has shown the lying lion in gold on a red background since 1926.
